Failures Are Welcome
Following India’s defeat at the Finals of CWC 2023 to Australia, there have been many posts on management lessons learnt from the defeat and analysis of the reasons for the defeat. However, an important aspect that most of these posts did not talk about is Emotional Resilience.
In life we face many challenges and emotional resilience is the key to bounce back from “defeats” and strive for success again and again.
Playing competitive sport at any level is one way to build our emotional resilience, as while playing competitive sport we are bound to lose many games. But to continue to bounce back from every “defeat”, we need emotional resilience.
Playing competitive sport should not to build a behaviour of competitiveness, but should be to build the behaviour of emotional resilience.
Great success in live cannot be achieved by a behaviour of competitiveness. It can only be achieved by the behaviour of collaboration. Great teams win due to a better collaboration within rather than by being better competitor with outside.
