THE OVERSMART ROOSTER

Two burglars were prowling round a barn one night. They could hear something moving inside, and ever so carefully they climbed in to see what it was.

It was a rooster.

Alarmed that it will wake everybody, the burglars decided to go to another house.

The rooster, on the other hand, thought that the burglars had seen him and would come another day to take him and kill him for dinner.

It thought of a smart idea. Just when the burglars were about to go away from that home, the rooster, squawked in alarm and shouted from behind: “Please don’t kill me. I can be useful to you. I can wake you at dawn every day, ready to start work on time. Just like this….” and the rooster was about to scream to show his talent to the burglars.

“That’s just what we don’t want,” growled the burglars. “If you wake people up they’ll catch us robbing their houses. And now, though we didn’t steal from this house, you have put us in danger of being caught for no reason”

So that was the end of the rooster.
